Placements24 seeks enthusiastic Watersports Instructors to join a Mossel Bay team on a contract basis. You will teach surfing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and sailing, ensuring safety and enjoyment for participants of all ages.

The role emphasizes delivering engaging lessons, maintaining equipment, and safeguarding all activities. Applicants should hold relevant certifications (ISA/ACA), have teaching experience, strong swimming skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Certifications in watersports you instruct (e.g., ISA Surf Instructor, ACA Kayak Instructor)
• Proven teaching or coaching experience in watersports
• Strong swimming ability and good physical fitness
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for diverse groups
• First Aid and CPR certification is required

Responsibilities

• Instruct and coach participants in watersports (surfing, kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing) following safety guidelines
• Develop lesson plans and adapt teaching methods to different skill levels
• Conduct pre-activity safety briefings and maintain safety equipment
• Monitor participants and intervene for safety as needed
• Create a positive, engaging learning environment for all ages
• Assist with setup, breakdown, and cleanliness of the watersports centre
