Job summary

Sibanye Stillwater is seeking a Strata Control specialist to support mining operations in the North West region. The role focuses on ensuring safety and quality by proactively addressing Strata Control challenges and assisting with policy updates and risk mitigation.

Ideal candidates will have a COM Strata Control Certificate, Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science, and at least five years of relevant experience. A valid driver’s license and clear background checks are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Strata Control
• Ensures that safe quality of work is achieved daily by developing and implementing a proactive approach to all safety Strata Control issues in the workplace which requires the effective co-ordination and supervision of the support functions.
• Presents information to management in the form of reports
• Provides advice based on specialist knowledge information received,
• Scrutinize submitted data from the workplace and providing feedback.
• Attends and participates in meetings by providing required information.
• Keeps abreast of latest relevant Strata Control developments, innovations and technologies.
• Assists with the maintenance and updates of relevant policies, procedures and regulations in line with current trends and developments and based on own specialist knowledge.
• Performs any other activities necessary for the effective completion of his / her work. Stakeholder Relations
• Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally at all levels and cross-functionally.
• Ensuring open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders.
• Liaising with the necessary entities on any environmental management related requirements and alignment where applicable.
• Financial Management
• Ensures that costs are controlled and wastage of resources is eliminated by working within prescribed budgets. Reports deviations to Supervisor. Building a values-based organisational culture
