Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification (CA(SA), ACCA or CIMA)
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in financial accounting and controllership
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS and South African tax legislation
• Proven experience in developing and implementing internal controls
• Strong financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting skills
• Excellent leadership, team management, and communication abilities
• Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Experience with audits and liaising with external auditors

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll
• Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and IFRS filings
• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes with department heads
• Analyze performance against budget and forecast, identify variances, recommend actions
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements
• Manage cash flow, treasury functions, and banking relationships
• Provide strategic financial advice to senior management
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team
