Placements24 is seeking a Senior Financial Controller to oversee all financial accounting and controls at our Rustenburg facility in North West. The role requires CA qualification and 7+ years in financial accounting within heavy industry or mining.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting, and team development, ensuring IFRS compliance, robust controls, and timely reports. Strong SAP/Oracle and Excel skills are essential for this on-site role.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in financial accounting and control roles, preferably in mining or heavy industry.
• Extensive knowledge of IFRS and South African accounting regulations.
• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a demanding, on-site environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of financial accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Develop and manage the annual budget and financial forecasting processes.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team.
• Analyze financial performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
