Placements24 is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead all financial operations in Paarl, Western Cape. The role focuses on accurate IFRS reporting, internal controls, budgeting, and strategic financial planning to support senior management.

The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background, 8+ years of experience, and proven leadership in finance. This position offers an opportunity to drive financial stability and growth in a well-established agricultural sector company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional accounting qualification (CA(SA)/ACCA/CIMA) required.
• Minimum of 8 years progressive experience in accounting/finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
• Extensive knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Proficiency with SAP or Oracle and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting department: GL, AP, AR, and payroll.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements per IFRS.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting with department heads.
• Ensure compliance with statutory/tax regulations and policies.
• Manage external auditors, tax advisors, and banks.
• Provide financial analysis and reports to senior management.
• Drive improvements in accounting processes and systems.
• Manage cash flow and treasury; optimize working capital.
• Mentor and develop the finance/accounting team.
