Placements24 is assisting a major financial services group in Upington to recruit a Senior Financial Controller. The role oversees corporate accounting, financial reporting, and compliance, with on-site responsibilities and strategic input for stakeholders and regulators.

The ideal candidate holds a CA(SA) or equivalent, a Bachelor in Accounting or Finance, and at least 7 years of progressive corporate accounting experience, IFRS expertise, and strong leadership to mentor the accounting team.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent).
• CA(SA) or equivalent professional qualification is essential.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting and financial control.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS and South African tax laws.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Strong understanding of internal controls and audit procedures.
• Advanced proficiency in SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Aufgaben

• Oversee daily accounting operations: AP/AR, GL, payroll.
• Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements per IFRS.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting with variance analysis.
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls to protect assets.
• Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Mentor and develop the accounting team for high performance.
• Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Implement and optimize accounting software and systems.
