Job summary

Cashbuild Limited is seeking an Assistant Manager (External Applications Only) to support store leadership in South Africa. The role focuses on growing market share, achieving sales budgets by category, and delivering excellent customer service while ensuring safety, stock integrity, and financial controls.

The ideal candidate has Grade 12 with retail management experience, strong accounting, leadership, HR skills, and solid computer literacy.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with at least 2 years retail management experience
• Valid Drivers license
• Valid ID or valid work permit (local)
• Must have strong accounting skills
• Must be able to work under pressure
• Must be computer literate (Basic computer literacy)
• Must have strong leadership skills
• Must have strong administrative skills
• Must have own transport and cell phone
• Must have sound knowledge of Health and Safety aspects in line with local OHSA and/or neighbouring Countries legislation
• Must have strong Human Resources skills

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager to develop, implement and manage a Store Business Plan aligned with Company strategy
• Assist the Store Manager to achieve growth in market share and sales budgets by category
• Assist the Store Manager to promote customer loyalty programmes and manage advertising material distribution
• Assist the Store Manager to develop proactive action plans to protect market share against competitors
• Assist the Store Manager with implementing and monitoring the Customer Service strategy
• Assist the Store Manager to maintain Customer Audits above 95% and ensure reliable delivery service
• Assist the Store Manager to manage stock, cash, fixed assets and assets control processes
• Assist the Store Manager to recruit and induct employees and support Training & Development
• Assist the Store Manager to manage OHSA safety standards and compliance
• Assist the Store Manager to maintain merchandising and planograms, housekeeping and store standards
• Assist the Store Manager to drive profitability and financial model adherence
• Assist the Store Manager to lead, delegate and maintain discipline and integrity
