Job summary

Cashbuild Limited is looking for an Assistant Manager (External Applications Only) to support Store Managers in achieving strategic objectives and driving growth. The role focuses on protecting market share, delivering customer service excellence, and maintaining strong asset and cash controls within the store.

The candidate will lead in areas such as stock integrity, safety compliance, HR processes, and supplier/customer relations to support overall store performance.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with at least 2 years retail management experience.
• Valid drivers license.
• Valid ID or valid work permit (local).
• Strong accounting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Strong administrative skills.
• Own transport and cell phone.
• Sound knowledge of Health and Safety aspects in line with local OHSA or neighbouring countries legislation.
• Strong Human Resources skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager to develop, implement and manage a Store Business Plan aligned with Company strategy.
• Assist the Store Manager to grow market share and achieve sales budgets by Category, promote loyalty programmes, and manage advertising material distribution.
• Assist in implementing and monitoring the Customer Service strategy and maintaining Customer Audits above 95%.
• Assist in stock control: shrinkage, PIC, stock takes, stock movement, and security measures.
• Assist in cash handling: Debtors, petty cash, daily banking, shorts/overs, cheques and cards.
• Assist in maintenance and protection of assets: IT equipment, signage, forklift, and safe.
• Assist in HR: recruitment, training, succession planning, manpower planning, employee relations.
• Assist in Store Safety (OHSA) compliance and incident recording.
• Assist in maintaining trading standards and house cleanliness.
