About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and community-focused Social Media Engagement Manager to join their marketing team in Paarl, Western Cape . This role is essential for building and nurturing our online community, fostering meaningful interactions, and enhancing brand loyalty across all social media platforms. The ideal candidate will be a natural communicator, adept at understanding audience sentiment, and skilled in crafting engaging responses and content. You will play a key role in managing brand reputation, driving conversations, and converting followers into brand advocates. This is an exciting opportunity to shape our social media presence in the heart of the Western Cape's beautiful Winelands.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to increase community engagement across all social media channels (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok).
• Monitor social media conversations, identify trends, and respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and brand-appropriate manner.
• Actively engage with followers, influencers, and potential customers to build relationships and foster a positive brand image.
• Create and curate engaging content (text, images, videos) that encourages interaction and discussion.
• Manage online communities, set community guidelines, and moderate discussions to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
• Identify and elevate customer service issues or PR concerns to relevant departments.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to align social media engagement strategies with broader campaign goals.
• Track and report on key engagement metrics, such as response rates, sentiment analysis, and community growth.
• Stay abreast of new social media platforms, features, and engagement tactics.
• Organize and manage online contests, Q&A sessions, and other interactive community events.

Requirements

• Proven experience in social media management, community management, or a similar engagement-focused role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for crafting compelling and empathetic responses.
• Deep understanding of major social media platforms, their algorithms, and best practices for engagement.
• Experience with social media monitoring and management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer).
• Ability to analyze engagement data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
• Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills.
• Creative thinking and a passion for building online communities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
• Experience in content creation for social media is a strong advantage.
