Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Engineer with expertise in Water Resources to join our client’s team in Mahikeng, North West. You will lead planning, design, and implementation of water infrastructure projects including dams, pipelines, water treatment plants, and distribution networks.

The role requires strong hydraulics, hydrology and water engineering knowledge, plus proven project management and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Hydraulic Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Pr. Eng. designation is required.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in water resource project management and design.
• Strong knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics, water treatment processes, and distribution systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and management of water resource and infrastructure projects.
• Develop detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for water systems.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
• Conduct feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments, and site investigations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and permits.
• Oversee construction activities, providing technical guidance and problem-solving support.
• Liaise effectively with clients, stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and contractors.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and project staff.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in water engineering technologies and practices.
• Prepare project progress reports and technical presentations.
