Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer in Rustenburg to lead planning, design and delivery of regional water projects. You will supervise project teams, ensure technical excellence, and provide expert guidance on water resource challenges while maintaining regulatory compliance.

The role demands a master's degree, Pr Eng registration, and 8+ years of experience in hydrology and hydraulics.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent with water resources specialization.
Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is required.
Minimum 8+ years of experience in water resources engineering with project management experience.
Strong knowledge of hydrological and hydraulic modeling software.

Responsibilities

Lead planning, design, and implementation of water resource projects (dams, canals, pipelines, stormwater).
Conduct hydrological and hydraulic modeling to assess availability, flood risk and environmental impact.
Develop water resource management plans and strategies.
Prepare design reports, tender documents, and construction drawings.
Manage budgets, schedules and resources for on-time delivery.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
Liaise with clients, government agencies and stakeholders for regulatory alignment.
Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies for new projects.
Oversee construction phase ensuring quality and conformance to specs.
