Placements24 is assisting a leading environmental and engineering consultancy in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal to hire a Senior Water Resources Engineer. This role focuses on planning, design, and management of water-related infrastructure projects, including water supply, wastewater, and stormwater systems, with site supervision.

The successful candidate will lead project teams, perform hydrological modeling (HEC-RAS, SWMM, EPANET), ensure technical excellence, manage client relationships,

Qualifications

• Master's degree in relevant field required.
• ECSA Pr. Eng registration is mandatory.
• Minimum 8 years in water resources engineering, project management, and design.
• Proven track record managing water infrastructure projects of varying scales.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses, including flood modeling and water resource assessments.
• Prepare design reports, technical specifications, tender documents, and construction drawings.
• Manage project execution, ensuring budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
• Oversee and mentor junior engineers and staff.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Perform site investigations and construction supervision for water-related projects.
• Develop and implement strategies for water conservation, flood control, and pollution mitigation.
• Stay current with best practices and technological advancements in water resources engineering.
