Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• Pr.Eng. registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in water resources engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modeling software (HEC-RAS, EPANET, InfoWorks ICM).
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) for design and drafting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead remote teams effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for remote collaboration.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain high productivity.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of water infrastructure projects, including pipelines, treatment plants, reservoirs, and pumping stations.
• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic modeling for water resource management, flood risk assessment, and stormwater systems.
• Develop conceptual designs, detailed engineering drawings, and specifications for water and wastewater systems.
• Perform feasibility studies, impact assessments, and cost-benefit analyses for water-related projects.
• Collaborate virtually with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines across locations.
• Ensure designs comply with environmental regulations, SANS standards, and client requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians through virtual channels.
• Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and tender documents.
• Contribute to water conservation and management strategies.
• Stay updated on advancements in water resource management technologies and best practices.
