Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Telecoms Network Operations Manager to oversee network operations in Centurion, Gauteng. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, ensure uptime, and implement strategies to improve performance and availability.

The role requires strong leadership, deep knowledge of IP/MPLS, optical and wireless networks, and a proven track record in complex telecom environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years in telecom network operations; at least 3 years in a management role.
• Proven experience with IP/MPLS, optical and wireless networks.
• Experience with NMS and OSS and network management systems.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Network Operations Center (NOC) team, including scheduling and performance management.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the telecommunications network to maximise uptime.
• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Manage incident response, fault analysis, and root cause determination.
• Coordinate with engineering, provisioning, and customer support for seamless service.
• Manage vendor relationships and SLAs for network equipment and services.
• Develop and manage the network operations budget.
• Implement and maintain network monitoring and management tools.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the NOC.
