Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Telecommunications Systems Engineer for a hybrid role based in Kimberley. You will design, implement, and maintain voice, data and mobile networks while collaborating with vendors and internal teams to deploy new systems.

You will troubleshoot complex issues, develop documentation, and monitor performance with a focus on security and compliance. A strong background in LTE/5G and IP protocols is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 7+ years in telecommunications systems engineering.
• Strong IP networking, VoIP, LTE/5G experience.
• Proficiency in TCP/IP, SIP, SS7, GSM/UMTS/LTE.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage telecom systems incl. voice, data and mobile networks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across platforms.
• Develop and maintain network diagrams, configurations and procedures.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams for deployments.
• Monitor performance and plan capacity for telecom infrastructure.
• Stay updated on new telecom technologies and trends.
• Ensure network security and regulatory compliance.
• Provide support to junior engineers and operations staff.
• Participate in on-call rotations for critical systems.
• Contribute to long-term telecom strategy and roadmaps.
