Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Telecoms Infrastructure Engineer for a role based in Sandton, Gauteng. You will lead design, deployment, and ongoing management of the core telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability of network services.

The role requires a deep technical background in telecommunications and a collaborative mindset to drive robust infrastructure solutions aligned with the company's strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of telecom infrastructure engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of IP networking, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and carrier-grade technologies.
• Experience with network automation tools and scripting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain robust telecom network infrastructure, including routing, switching, and transmission systems.
• Lead complex network upgrade projects and technology evaluations.
• Ensure the high availability, performance, and security of the network.
• Troubleshoot and resolve advanced network issues, providing expert analysis and solutions.
• Develop and implement network policies, standards, and procedures.
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical expertise within the team.
