Job summary

Placements24 in Randburg is seeking a Telecommunications Engineer to design, develop, and implement advanced telecom systems and infrastructure. This hybrid role blends in‑office collaboration with remote work to deliver scalable, reliable networks across complex projects.

You will analyze performance, draft specifications and project plans, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with IT, operations and vendors.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
5+ years of progressive experience in telecommunications engineering.
Strong knowledge of telecommunications principles, protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP), and equipment.
Experience with network design tools and simulation software.
Proven ability to manage complex projects from conception to completion.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design, plan, and implement telecommunications network infrastructure, including voice, data, and video services.
Analyze network performance and identify areas for improvement, implementing solutions to optimize efficiency and capacity.
Develop technical specifications and project plans for new telecommunications deployments and upgrades.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and service disruption.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and vendors, to integrate telecommunications solutions.
Research and evaluate new telecommunications technologies to enhance existing systems and services.
