Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Telecom Operations Manager in Bloemfontein to oversee day-to-day network operations, service delivery, and performance. You will lead a team of operations engineers and technicians, ensuring reliability and adherence to SLAs and KPIs.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Telecommunications/Engineering or related field, 8+ years in telecom operations, strong ITIL knowledge, and proven leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in telecommunications operations management.
• Strong knowledge of IP networking, wireless, and fiber optics.
• Experience with network management systems and OMS/OSS tools.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and decision‑making skills.
• Strong ITIL framework and service management understanding.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all aspects of telecommunications network operations, including monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations engineers and technicians.
• Ensure adherence to SLAs and KPIs.
• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency and service quality.
• Oversee incident management, problem management, and change management processes.
• Manage vendor relationships and service contracts related to network operations.
• Conduct performance analysis and prepare reports for senior management on network status and operational efficiency.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and safety standards.
