Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 8+ years in telecommunications network operations with at least 3 years in a management or team lead role.
• Experience managing complex network infrastructures (IP/MPLS, DWDM, mobile networks).
• Familiarity with network monitoring, fault management, and performance analysis techniques.
• Strong leadership and decision-making under pressure; excellent communication skills.
• ITIL or service management frameworks are desirable.
• Hybrid work arrangement with regular presence in Port Elizabeth office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation, monitoring, and maintenance of telecom network including core, access, and transport layers.
• Lead the Network Operations Center team, ensuring incident detection, escalation, and resolution.
• Develop and implement operational procedures and best practices for reliability and performance.
• Monitor KPIs and SLAs, reporting on network status and efficiency.
• Lead root cause analysis for major incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Manage capacity planning and resource allocation to meet demand.
• Oversee network changes and upgrades with minimal disruption.
• Collaborate with engineering, customer support, and planning for seamless delivery.
• Manage vendor relationships related to network ops tools and services.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and industry regulations.
