Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Reservoir Geologist to join the Mahikeng technical team. You will lead the integration of well log, core and seismic data to build 3D reservoir models and guide field development decisions.

The role requires a Master's in Geology or related Earth Science with 8+ years in reservoir geology, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams to optimize production and reserves.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geology or related Earth Science.
• 8+ years of reservoir geology experience in oil and gas.
• Experience building 3D reservoir models (Petrel, GeoGraphix).
• Ability to integrate well logs, core data and seismic interpretations.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine detailed 3D reservoir models based on geological and geophysical data.
• Integrate well log, core, and seismic data to characterize reservoir architecture and properties.
• Identify and map reservoir facies, stratigraphic sequences, and structural controls.
• Analyze core data to understand pore systems, rock properties, and fluid distribution.
• Evaluate reservoir quality, heterogeneity, and continuity.
• Contribute to reserve estimation and uncertainty analysis.
• Collaborate with petrophysicists and reservoir engineers to ensure accurate reservoir representation.
• Prepare geological reports, presentations, and technical recommendations.
• Mentor junior geologists and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
• Stay updated on advancements in reservoir geology techniques and software.
