Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geologist to join our client’s team in Sandton, Gauteng. The role focuses on interpreting seismic and geological data, building 3D models, and guiding exploration strategy.

You will collaborate with engineers and management to identify high-potential hydrocarbon prospects and drive prospect generation. The ideal candidate has a PhD/Master’s in Geology or Geophysics, 7+ years in upstream exploration, and strong proficiency with Petrel and Kingdom Suite.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics or related Earth Science.
• Minimum 7 years of upstream Oil & Gas exploration experience.
• Expertise in seismic interpretation and geological modeling software.

Responsibilities

• Interpret seismic, well log, core data to identify hydrocarbon prospects.
• Develop 3D geological models and subsurface maps.
• Conduct prospect risking and evaluation studies.
• Integrate geological data with reservoir engineering and geophysics.
• Collaborate to define drilling targets.
• Prepare geological reports and management presentations.
• Contribute to regional exploration strategies and play concepts.
• Mentor junior geologists and provide technical guidance.
