Placements24 is seeking a Senior Reservoir Simulation Analyst in Mahikeng, North West with a strong track record in building and calibrating dynamic reservoir models using Eclipse and Petrel RE. The role blends on-site collaboration with remote work to optimize production strategies and maximize asset value.

You will mentor junior engineers, integrate geological and production data, and work cross-functionally with geologists and engineers in a demanding South African context.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 7 years hands-on experience in reservoir simulation with focus on complex models.
• Proficiency with major reservoir simulation software packages and data integration workflows.
• Strong understanding of reservoir engineering principles, fluid flow in porous media, and numerical methods.

Responsibilities

• Build, calibrate, and validate dynamic reservoir simulation models using industry-standard software (e.g., Eclipse, Petrel RE).
• Perform sensitivity studies and uncertainty analyses to assess the impact of geological and engineering parameters on production forecasts.
• Develop and execute simulation runs to evaluate development scenarios and EOR methods.
• Interpret results and provide actionable technical recommendations to reservoir engineers and management.
• Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and production engineers to ensure an integrated reservoir management approach.
