Placements24 is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee the development and implementation of large-scale solar and wind energy projects in Bloemfontein, Free State. Lead the full lifecycle from feasibility to handover, coordinating with authorities, communities, and investors.

The role requires 8+ years in project management with 5+ years in renewables, strong leadership, and a track record managing capital-intensive projects in South Africa's regulatory environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or related field.
• Minimum 8 years in project management, with at least 5 years in renewables (solar/wind).
• Proven experience delivering capital-intensive projects.
• Strong knowledge of renewable energy tech, grid integration, and regulation.
• Experience with MS Project or Primavera P6 and related tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management.
• Experience onsite in Bloemfontein, Free State.
• PMP or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and delivery of solar PV and wind energy projects.
• Manage lifecycle: site assessment, permitting, design, procurement, construction, commissioning.
• Develop and control detailed plans, budgets, schedules, and resources.
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental regulatory compliance.
• Oversee contractors, vendors, and contract negotiations.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation and contingency plans.
• Coordinate with authorities, communities, utilities, and investors.
• Provide regular status updates to senior management.
• Drive efficiency, cost control, and timely project completion.
