Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Renewable Energy Project Engineer in Johannesburg to oversee the design, development, and execution of large-scale solar, wind, and storage projects. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, conduct feasibility studies, and ensure compliance with standards and regulations throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering with 8+ years in project management for renewable energy.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive engineering project management experience, with 5+ years in renewable energy (solar, wind).
• Experience leading full lifecycle of renewable energy projects from concept to commissioning.
• PE registration or equivalent accreditation is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and engineering of solar, wind, and storage projects.
• Perform feasibility studies, site assessments, and resource analyses to determine viability.
• Develop detailed engineering plans, BoMs, and specifications for project execution.
• Manage timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver on schedule and within budget.
• Ensure regulatory, environmental, health and safety compliance across projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and liaise with clients and stakeholders.
• Drive innovative engineering solutions to optimize performance and reduce costs.
