Placements24 is seeking a Lead Electrical Systems Designer to drive concept-to-detail design for diverse projects. You will mentor a distributed team of electrical engineers and designers, set technical direction, ensure design integrity, and interact with clients and stakeholders remotely.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in electrical design, strong leadership, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and ETAP.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
10+ years in electrical systems design, with 4+ years in lead/supervisory roles.
Proven experience designing for commercial, industrial, or institutional facilities.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, ETAP.
Strong leadership, communication and remote collaboration skills.
Pr. Eng. registration is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

Lead the electrical design process from concept through detailed design documentation.
Develop electrical layouts, schematics, single-line diagrams and specifications.
Ensure designs comply with codes and client requirements (SANS, NEC).
Collaborate with clients, architects, mechanical engineers and stakeholders via virtual platforms.
Mentor and guide junior electrical designers and engineers.
Review design work for accuracy, completeness and compliance.
Select appropriate electrical equipment based on project needs.
Manage design schedules and remote resource allocation.
Stay updated with advancements in electrical design technologies.
Present design concepts in virtual reviews.
