Placements24 is seeking a Lead Electrical Systems Engineer to drive design, development, and deployment of advanced electrical systems in a fully remote role with ties to the Randburg region. The position requires 10+ years in electrical systems engineering, including leadership experience, and expertise in power electronics, control systems, and embedded technologies.

The role emphasizes strategic technical direction, mentoring a distributed team, and ensuring system performance and safety

Qualifications

Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related advanced technical field.
10+ years in electrical systems engineering; at least 3 years in a leadership/lead engineer role.
Expertise in power electronics, control systems, signal processing, or embedded systems.
Proven track record delivering complex, large-scale electrical systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.
Outstanding remote leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for design and development of advanced electrical systems.
Oversee end-to-end lifecycle of electrical system projects remotely.
Mentor and guide a team of electrical engineers across locations.
Define system architecture, select components, and ensure subsystems integration.
Conduct rigorous reviews, analysis, and validation of system performance, reliability, and safety.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align development with business objectives.
