Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Remote Mechanical Design Engineer to join its engineering team. The role involves leading the concept, design, and implementation of complex mechanical systems, working autonomously in a virtual environment.

You will develop 3D CAD models, BOMs, perform stress/thermal/vibration analyses, mentor junior engineers remotely, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, cost-effective solutions on cutting-edge projects.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in mechanical design engineering.
• Proficient in SolidWorks or CATIA and FEA/CFD.
• Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturability, and DFM.
• Experience leading remote, cross-functional projects.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design process from concept to production readiness.
• Develop detailed 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and BOMs.
• Perform stress, thermal, and vibration analyses.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a virtual environment.
• Select materials and processes for performance and cost.
• Oversee prototype testing and design revisions.
