Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Electrical Infrastructure Engineer to design, plan and oversee electrical systems for regional infrastructure projects from a home office. You will ensure reliability, safety and efficiency of power distribution, control systems, and related infrastructure while collaborating with distributed teams.

The ideal candidate holds a Master's in Electrical Engineering, has 8+ years of design and project management experience, and is Pr.Eng registered with ECSA.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical infrastructure design & project management.
• Proven expertise in power systems, distribution networks, and HV equipment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and ETAP.
• Strong project management and remote collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of SANS, NRS, and other regulations.
• Pr.Eng registration with ECSA is essential.
• Excellent communication in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical infrastructure solutions for projects.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and load analyses.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specs, and calculations using industry software.
• Oversee tendering process for electrical components and construction services.
• Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases.
• Ensure designs and installations meet SANS codes and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with remote project teams, contractors and regulators.
• Manage project documentation and risk assessments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across project lifecycle.
• Contribute to maintenance strategies and asset management.
