Placements24 is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical design for major infrastructure projects on a fully remote basis within South Africa. You will mentor junior staff, set design standards, and ensure high-quality output for national and international clients.

The role requires a BEng in Electrical Engineering, PrEng with ECSA, 10–12 years of infrastructure-focused experience, and strong CAD skills (AutoCAD, Revit).

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline) is required.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• 10–12 years of progressive experience in electrical design engineering, with infrastructure focus.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit and electrical design/analysis tools.
• Ability to lead design teams and manage complex technical challenges.

Aufgaben

• Lead the electrical design of complex infrastructure projects from concept to completion.
• Develop detailed electrical system designs including power distribution, lighting, earthing, and lightning protection.
• Produce high-quality design documentation: drawings, specifications, calculations.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with national/international standards and codes (SANS, IEC).
• Oversee and review electrical design work of other engineers and technicians.
• Provide technical advice and support to project teams, clients, and contractors.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources remotely.
• Engage in business development and client liaison.
• Promote best practices in electrical engineering and sustainable design.
