Placements24 seeks an Electrical Engineer to support remote projects across Gauteng, including Soweto. You will contribute to the planning, design and implementation of electrical systems for infrastructure projects such as road networks and public facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 0-3 years of experience in electrical engineering.
• Familiarity with South African standards and municipal requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; AutoCAD or similar design software is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Eligible to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of electrical infrastructure systems (street lighting, power supply, distribution networks).
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments for new infrastructure projects.
• Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and tender documentation for electrical components.
• Ensure compliance with relevant national and municipal standards and regulations.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Support the procurement process for electrical equipment and materials.
• Assist in the supervision of electrical installation works on site when required.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to electrical infrastructure.
• Contribute to safety and reliability of electrical systems in public infrastructure.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and best practices in infrastructure development.
