Placements24 in Pietermaritzburg seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage project costs from inception to completion, with a strong grasp of contracts, cost estimation and financial control.

You will handle tendering, contract administration, interim payments and final accounts, monitor cash flow, and advise clients on commercial matters. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement with on-site assessments and office-based financial management.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• SACQSP registration desirable.
• Minimum 7 years of quantity surveying experience in construction.
• Strong knowledge of standard contracts (JBCC, NEC).
• Proficiency in cost estimation software and MS Excel.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects.
• Manage tendering process and evaluate bids.
• Administer construction contracts and ensure compliance.
• Valuate interim payments and final accounts; manage cash flow.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks throughout projects.
• Monitor expenditures and report cost performance against budget.
• Conduct site visits to measure work and assess progress for payments.
• Negotiate with contractors and suppliers for cost-effective solutions.
• Advise clients and project teams on contractual/commercial matters.
• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and correspondence.
