Placements24 in Rustenburg is seeking a Lead Quantity Surveyor to spearhead cost management and contractual administration for major infrastructure projects. This senior role requires strategic thinking and extensive experience in managing project finances, procurement, and contract negotiations.

The ideal candidate will oversee all commercial aspects of projects, ensuring financial viability and mitigating contractual risks while maximising profitability.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Professional registration (e.g., SACQSP) is highly desirable.
• 10+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with 5+ years in lead/senior roles on infrastructure projects.
• Proven cost management, contract administration, and dispute resolution experience.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC, NEC, or other standard contracts.
• Proficiency with cost estimation software and office tools.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the quantity surveying function for large infrastructure projects, managing all commercial and contractual aspects.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents.
• Analyse tenders, negotiate with contractors, and advise on contract awards.
• Manage tendering and procurement for materials and subcontractors.
• Administer contracts, manage variations, claims, and disputes.
• Monitor costs against budget and provide reports/forecasts.
• Conduct site visits to verify valuations and progress.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms and mitigate financial risks.
• Negotiate and settle final accounts with contractors.
• Advise project teams on commercial and contractual matters.
• Maintain comprehensive records of costs and financial transactions.
