Placements24 seeks a Senior Process Engineer specializing in chemical processes to join a global leader at the Rustenburg site. The role focuses on optimizing, troubleshooting, and redesigning chemical processes to improve yield, energy efficiency, safety, and product quality in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

You will lead process simulation and modeling (Aspen Plus, HYSYS), mentor junior engineers, manage complex projects, develop P&IDs and process flow diagrams, and collaborate

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Chemical Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum of 6 years in process engineering within the chemical industry.
• Experience in process design, simulation, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize chemical processes for yield, energy use, and waste reduction.
• Develop and manage process improvements, equipment changes, and control systems.
• Conduct simulations and modeling to predict outcomes and assess design changes.
• Troubleshoot process issues with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Design pilot studies and scale-up operations for new/modified processes.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Prepare P&IDs, PFDs, and detailed technical reports.
• Collaborate with production, R&D, and maintenance teams to meet project goals.
• Mentor junior engineers and stay updated on chemical engineering advances.
