Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Process Design Engineer to lead critical design projects in Vereeniging. This role demands extensive experience in conceptualizing, developing, and executing complex chemical process designs from feasibility through detailed engineering.

You will mentor junior engineers, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and collaborate with project management and clients to deliver successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in process design.
• Experience with Aspen Plus or ChemCAD and CAD tools.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and mass transfer.
• Ability to manage projects from concept to detailed engineering.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex chemical processes and systems.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
• Perform process simulations and calculations to optimize designs for safety and cost.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Review and approve design documents, calculations, and vendor proposals.
• Mentor and guide junior process engineers, fostering their development.
