Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Process Engineer to join its team in Vereeniging, Gauteng, South Africa. The role focuses on optimizing operations in the chemical and energy sectors, designing, developing, and troubleshooting processes to improve efficiency and product quality while maintaining safety standards.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering and at least seven years of experience, with hands-on knowledge of process design, thermodynamics, and simulation tools

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering, preferably within the chemical or energy sector.
• Strong understanding of process design principles, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and reaction kinetics.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, CHEMCAD) and data analysis tools.
• Experience with HAZOP studies and implementing process safety management systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with experience working in Vereeniging.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes to enhance yield, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
• Conduct process simulations, feasibility studies, and pilot plant trials to evaluate new technologies and process modifications.
• Troubleshoot process-related issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including P&IDs, operating procedures, and safety protocols.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations in the Gauteng region.
• Collaborate with R&D, operations, and maintenance teams to integrate process improvements and new equipment.
