Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join its Vereeniging facility to optimize production processes, improve quality, and drive efficiency. You will partner with production, R&D and QA to implement best practices and lead improvement projects in a safety-conscious environment.

The role requires hands-on engineering expertise, strong Lean/Six Sigma background, and the ability to manage cross-functional initiatives and mentor teams on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and statistical process control (SPC).
• Proven experience with process simulation, CAD software, and MES.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes and production lines for maximum efficiency and quality.
• Lead the implementation of new manufacturing technologies and equipment, ensuring successful integration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing work instructions.
• Collaborate with the quality department to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage and execute manufacturing engineering projects, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.
