Placements24 is seeking a highly specialized Chemical Engineering Specialist for our Vereeniging-based advanced manufacturing facility. The role requires deep technical expertise in reaction engineering, materials science, and process intensification to support product development and technology implementation.

You will solve complex challenges, design experiments, validate analytical methods, and contribute to patents, reports, and publications while collaborating with R&D teams to push process

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in a relevant area (e.g., catalysis, polymer chemistry, process intensification).
• 7+ years of experience in applied research, process development, or technical problem-solving in the chemical industry.
• Proven track record of innovation and successful implementation of new technologies.
• Expertise in spectroscopy, chromatography, or other advanced analytical techniques.
• Strong theoretical understanding and practical application of chemical reaction engineering and thermodynamics.
• Excellent technical writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical consultation on complex chemical engineering challenges related to production and R&D.
• Lead investigations into process anomalies and develop innovative solutions for improved performance and yield.
• Design and execute experiments to evaluate new materials, catalysts, or process parameters.
• Develop and validate new analytical methods for process monitoring and quality control.
• Author technical reports, research proposals, and patent applications.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in chemical engineering and relevant scientific fields.
