Placements24 in Pretoria is seeking a Senior Mining Systems Engineer to design, implement and optimize integrated mining systems with a focus on safety and productivity. The role blends on-site collaboration with remote work in a hybrid setup, and requires deep knowledge of fleet management, automation, and data analytics across diverse mining projects.

The successful candidate will lead system integration, develop documentation, train operations staff, and stay ahead of advancing technologies

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field; Master's is advantageous.
6+ years in mining operations or mining systems engineering.
Experience with mine fleet management systems (CAT MineStar, Hexagon) and production monitoring software.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement integrated mining systems including fleet management and automation.
Analyze operations to identify improvements through technology adoption and optimization.
Oversee integration of mining hardware and software ensuring data flow and functionality.
Develop and maintain system documentation, SOPs, and user manuals.
Collaborate with operations, IT and vendors to deploy and support systems.
Train staff on mining systems and technologies; troubleshoot issues as needed.
Stay abreast of trends in mining automation and digital systems.
Contribute to long-term strategy for mining systems adoption and enhancement.
Ensure systems meet safety, reliability, and performance standards.
