Placements24, on behalf of a leading mining group, is seeking a Senior Mining Operations Manager for its Randburg, Gauteng operations. The role combines on-site leadership with strategic remote planning to optimise production, drive efficiency, and uphold top-tier safety standards across underground and open-pit sites.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, implement continuous improvement, manage budgets, ensure environmental compliance, and report performance to senior management.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline required.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive mine operations management experience.
• Experience in underground and open-pit mining operations with safety focus.

Aufgaben

• Oversee day-to-day mining operations ensuring production targets are met safely.
• Develop and implement strategies to maximise resource recovery and minimise costs.
• Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor supervisors, engineers and staff.
• Monitor performance using KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with geology, engineering and maintenance for integrated planning.
• Manage budgets and capital expenditure proposals.
• Ensure environmental compliance and company policies.
• Conduct site visits, identify risks, and report to senior management.
