Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead and deliver major mining infrastructure projects near Rustenburg, North West. You will oversee all phases from feasibility through commissioning, manage budgets over R50 million, and lead multidisciplinary teams to meet safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical, civil or mining engineering background, 10+ years in project engineering, strong PMI/PRINCE2 skills, and on-site commitment with potential travel to client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; mining engineering preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in project engineering and management.
• Experience managing mining infrastructure budgets above R50 million.
• Professional registration with ECSA is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of major mining infrastructure projects.
• Develop project scope, objectives, budgets, and schedules aligned with company goals.
• Manage engineering design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
• Oversee multidisciplinary engineering teams and external consultants.
• Ensure strict adherence to HSEQ standards.
• Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Monitor progress, performance, and costs; report to senior management.
• Liaise with site operations, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
• Drive continuous improvement in project delivery methodologies.
