Qualifications

• Professional registration with ECSA is advantageous.

About the Role

Our client, a major player in the mining sector, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to manage and deliver critical infrastructure projects at their operations near Rustenburg, North West. This challenging role demands a robust engineering background, exceptional project management capabilities, and a proven ability to deliver complex projects within budget and on schedule. You will be responsible for overseeing all phases of project development, from conceptualization and feasibility studies through to detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mining-related infrastructure, such as shafts, processing plants, or bulk earthworks, and possess strong leadership qualities to manage multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of major mining infrastructure projects.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Mining preferred).
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in project engineering and management, with a significant portion focused on mining infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience managing projects from inception to completion, with budgets exceeding R50 million.
• Strong understanding of mining operations, processes, and associated infrastructure requirements.
• Excellent knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2) and tools.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Professional registration with ECSA is highly advantageous.
• Willingness to work on-site in the Rustenburg area for extended periods, with potential for travel.
