Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Project Engineer for mining infrastructure in Rustenburg. Lead projects from concept to handover, coordinating civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes while ensuring on-time delivery and quality.

You will manage complex plans, liaise with operations and maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards. A strong PM background and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering is required.
• Professional registration with ECSA is highly desirable.
• At least 5 years of project engineering/management experience in mining or heavy industry.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of PM methodologies (PRINCE2, PMBOK).

Responsibilities

• Manage full project lifecycles from feasibility to commissioning.
• Develop detailed project plans: scope, timelines, budgets.
• Coordinate contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
• Ensure safety, environmental and policy compliance.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and report to senior management.
