Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional registration as a Pr Eng with ECSA is essential.
• 10–12 years of civil engineering experience with 5–7 years in mining infrastructure.
• Proven experience in tailings dams, waste rock dumps, and water management systems.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software for design, analysis, and project management.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience navigating the South African mining regulatory framework.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and construction supervision of mining-related civil infrastructure projects.
• Develop and implement civil engineering strategies aligned with operational and environmental goals.
• Mentor and manage a team of engineers and technicians; drive performance.
• Ensure designs and constructions meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Oversee geotechnical aspects of tailings storage facilities and waste dumps.
• Prepare engineering reports, feasibility studies, cost estimates, and proposals.
• Manage budgets, resources, and schedules to ensure timely delivery.
• Collaborate with mine operations and environmental managers; engage stakeholders.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure quality and compliance.
