Placements24 is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer for our client in Nelspruit. The role focuses on optimizing manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring product quality through industrial engineering principles.

It combines on-site engagement with production and quality teams and remote analysis for reporting and planning. Ideal candidates have a strong technical background, 5–7 years in manufacturing process engineering, and a proven track record in Lean/Six

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing process engineering role.
Proven experience in process optimization, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
Proficiency in process simulation software and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab).
Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
Experience with CAD software for layout design is a plus.
Ability to work effectively in both on-site and remote settings, demonstrating strong self-management.
Knowledge of automation and robotics in manufacturing is desirable.
Must be located in or willing to commute to Nelspruit.

Responsibilities

Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, cost, quality, and safety.
Design, develop, and implement new or improved manufacturing processes, including equipment selection, layout design, and workflow optimization.
Utilize statistical analysis and process modeling tools to evaluate process performance and support decision-making.
Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation.
Implement and champion Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
Conduct time studies, capacity planning, and bottleneck analysis to optimize production flow.
Collaborate with R&D and product design teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
Train production personnel on new processes, equipment, and best practices.
Monitor and report on key manufacturing KPIs, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
