Job summary

Placements24 seeks a senior Manufacturing Engineer to join the client’s advanced Soweto facility. You will design, optimize and lead manufacturing processes, drive Lean/Six Sigma initiatives and ensure quality systems are met.

The role requires 7+ years in manufacturing engineering, a relevant degree, CAD/CAM proficiency, and strong leadership. Hybrid on-site with strategic planning collaboration in Gauteng. Relocation assistance may be considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering, focusing on process design and optimization.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, assembly, automation).
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement tools; ISO 9001 knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes and systems to meet production goals and quality standards.
• Lead the implementation of new manufacturing technologies, equipment, and methodologies.
• Analyze production data to identify opportunities for efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvements.
• Develop and manage project plans for manufacturing process improvements and new product introductions.
• Collaborate with R&D, design, and production teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
• Troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues and implement long-term solutions.
• Develop and maintain process documentation including SOPs and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians.
