Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Process Engineer to optimize manufacturing operations in Pretoria, Gauteng. You will lead process improvements, develop new workflows, and drive efficiency and product quality across cross-functional teams including production, quality, and R&D.

The role requires a strong engineering background, at least 5 years of experience, and hands-on expertise in Lean and Six Sigma. A hybrid work model and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Process Engineer or similar manufacturing engineering role.
• Experience with process simulation, data analysis, and SPC.
• Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment, automation, and control systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable in a Hybrid environment.
• Experience in Gauteng region preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify efficiency, cost, and quality improvements.
• Design, develop, and implement new processes and technologies.
• Lead process optimization projects using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
• Develop process documentation (SOPs, PFDs, and P&IDs).
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with equipment vendors and R&D on specifications and integration.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and production staff on new processes and best practices.
• Monitor process performance with key metrics and report findings and recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
