Job summary

Placements24, a leading financial institution, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Internal Auditor to join its team. This fully remote role allows you to perform critical audit functions from your home office anywhere in South Africa.

You will plan, execute, and report on audits, assess internal controls and risk management, and communicate findings to management and the board. The ideal candidate holds a CIA/CA(SA)/CISA and at least five years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or related field.
• CIA, CA(SA), CISA or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years of internal or external auditing experience.
• Strong knowledge of IIA standards and COSO.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute financial, operational, and compliance audits in line with annual audit plan.
• Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and identify weaknesses.
• Evaluate risk management processes and governance structures.
• Develop audit programs and testing procedures.
• Gather and analyze audit evidence and document findings clearly.
• Prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings, risks, and recommendations.
• Communicate audit results and recommendations to management and the audit committee.
• Follow up on the implementation of management's action plans to address audit findings.
• Stay current with professional auditing standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
