Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Internal Auditor for a leading financial services institution in Sandton. You will evaluate internal controls, risk management, and governance, guiding improvements and ensuring integrity of operations.

The role requires 5+ years in auditing, knowledge of SA regulations, and proficiency with audit software and Excel. You will mentor juniors and collaborate with external auditors in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CIA, CA(SA), or CISA qualification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive auditing experience.
• Strong knowledge of auditing principles, risk management and governance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute financial, operational, and compliance audits per the annual plan.
• Assess design and effectiveness of internal controls across processes.
• Identify and document control weaknesses, risks and non-compliance.
• Develop recommendations to mitigate risks and improve controls.
• Prepare audit reports with findings and management recommendations.
• Follow up on implementation of audit recommendations.
• Stay updated on industry regulatory changes and emerging risks.
• Collaborate with external auditors and stakeholders as needed.
• Participate in risk assessments and audit planning.
• Mentor junior auditors and provide training.
