Job summary

Placements24, on behalf of a prominent financial services group, seeks a Senior Auditor for a remote role within South Africa. You will plan, execute, and report on a range of internal audit engagements across business units, ensuring strong control environments and governance.

You will assess risks, test controls, and develop practical recommendations, while communicating findings to management and supporting remediation in a remote-first, collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CA(SA), ACCA, CPA, CIA, or CISA are highly desirable.
• Minimum 5 years of internal or external audit experience.
• Strong understanding of COSO and risk assessment methodologies.
• Proficiency in data analysis and audit software such as ACL or IDEA.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple audits remotely.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and document internal audit engagements in accordance with the annual audit plan and professional standards.
• Assess risks and controls within various business processes, systems, and operations.
• Perform financial, operational, and compliance audits to identify control weaknesses and areas for improvement.
• Develop practical and cost-effective recommendations to address identified risks and control deficiencies.
• Prepare clear, concise, and accurate audit reports, communicating findings and recommendations to management.
• Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations to ensure effective remediation.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with auditees and stakeholders across the organization.
• Stay updated on relevant industry trends, regulations, and best practices in internal auditing.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the internal audit methodology and processes.
• Participate in special investigations as required.
