Placements24 is seeking a diligent Safety and Environmental Chemical Engineer to ensure compliance and promote a culture of safety at a chemical facility in Klerksdorp. You will manage HSE risks across operations, develop policies and steer regulatory adherence.

The role requires a minimum of six years in HSE within chemicals/manufacturing, a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or EHS, and knowledge of OHS Act and environmental laws. NEBOSH or CSP is advantageous.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Health and Safety.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in HSE roles within chemical/manufacturing industries.
• In-depth knowledge of OHS Act and environmental legislation.
• Experience with risk assessment methodologies and incident investigations.
• NEBOSH or CSP certifications are advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, implement, and maintain HSE management systems.
• Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations on emissions and waste disposal.
• Develop and deliver safety training for site personnel.
• Manage emergency response planning for chemical spills or incidents.
• Oversee safe storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials.
